Ernest L's Story

Carol and Brenda, thanks for the notes. Love and miss you both. And hey to all my other Poly friends that might see this note. The simple answers, yes, I still live in Canon City, Colorado. And yes, I am still a single boy, or and old never married loner, depending on one¿s angle / point of view. And yes, I remember and think of my Poly friends. If this goes through on this bulletin board, and your in the mood, reach out and touch someone who would loved to be touched by old friends. I can not give contact info on this without paying, not sure I want to "join" web site. .... I have and will always miss you all, and regret not making the 40th reunion. I did go to the photo site, down loaded every dam one of them. Memories, good ones. Even the not so good memories improve with age. ..... And, well, here we are, 40 years later. I saw most of my loved high school friends at the 20 reunion, then the 30. Both times, I & those friends were momentarily re-connected again, and said / nay, maybe even promised, to keep in touch. But as life does, people get busy, and moves on in time. Perhaps some of my friends had (as I did) a passing thought, I should reach out to my friends. But today¿s procrastination becomes 40 years of life. And good friends and good times become those good memories. And good memories are so much better shared with those good friends that helped you create them. So I should of been at the 40th reunion!! ...Expand for more
.... My plans!!!! ....Well, I am currently planing to retire from the government at after 7 years as a seasonal, followed now by 29 more years of permanent full time. It has been a good ride, but not the career advancement I had hoped for. .... So time to try something new, or try nothing at all. After so long of time ¿working¿ at, perhaps even to much dedication to a job, must admit, it was hard and a bit scary to make the decision. ..... And all of us wonder how much money is enough! So yes, I might have to go back to work, but not right away I hope. ..... And I always fancied I might try to write some, Mom always thought I had a ¿potential¿ talent. A mother would never lie to her son would she. Hmmm, come to think of it, maybe she did not mean my potential talent was for writing?? .... And sadly, like to many of us now, I have said good bye to my parents (I miss them so much). But for those that hung around with the Gillingham boys, be sure Mom & Dad knew and loved you all, and my networking Mom, before even Al Gore knew what the net was, kept me well informed over the years of ¿what my Poly friends were doing". .... And a PS, I think I am coming to Fort Worth area Thanksgiving to be with family. Best, best, best to all of you. .... Another PS to Carol, little brother Adam bought a place at Indian Harbor, Grandbury, talk about some memories!!!! And his place is only few lots down from where Dad¿s place was.
